(Until recently, the only color management on the web was Internet Explorer which could use Mac ColorSync on Macs. I believe that PCs still do not support color management for multiple monitors. Macs allow individual simultaneous color profiles for multiple monitors. It is doable on PCs but is not automatic. Supporting multiple monitors, very useful for graphics, has been built into Macs for some years. It has been much more recent on PCs and it still is not fully integrated. Integrated color into the OS has been present on Macs for a long time. Microsoft and others immediately saw the value of color management and joined the ICC. Photoshop and Maya (video equivalent of Photoshop) came from the Mac side.
